Upon request, your documents can be sent to you via WhatsApp.
Cancellation of your policy can be done by the Main Member or the Insurer within 31 days of written notification.
The pay-out is made to the Nominated Beneficiary/ies on the policy to use at their discretion.
Cash Pay-out to Nominated Beneficiary.
Claims must be fully submitted within 180 days of death.
Should death occur due to suicide within the first 12 months after inception date, claims can be declined.

Cover will cease immediately should the Main Member cease to pay the monthly premium of R20, dies, withdraws or retires.
No waiting period applies in the event of death due to accidental causes, provided that the HYPA Subscription monthly payment is up to date.
Accidental death: is a direct and solely a result of bodily injury caused by accidental means, an accidental death benefit will be payable.
Death must have taken place within 30 days of the incident and the event must be the primary cause of death.
To change a beneficiary the policyholder must inform the administrator (iNFUSSION) about the changes in writing to hypa@infbrokers.co.za.
A beneficiary is the person or entity that you legally designate to receive the benefits from your financial products.
It is required by law for life insurance coverage (Funeral cover) that the death benefit of your policy will pay out to the Nominated Beneficiary when you pass away.
- We require the full ID number of your beneficiary.
- Nominated Beneficiaries must be over the age of 18 and must have a South African bank account.
The Single Member Funeral Plan is only available to you as a HYPA customer.
You have R10 000-00 funeral cover for the monthly R20 premium.
If you want to add additional members then you need to take out the Comprehensive Family Funeral Plan.

Termination of Policy: The Policy will terminate in the event of any one of the following:
- Main Member’s death
- The Main Member request cancellation of the policy in writing
- If the monthly premiums have not been paid for 3 consecutive months
The Waiting Period for the Comprehensive Family Funeral Plan is the period subsequent to the entry date and stipulated in the policy schedule, in which no benefits to a Main Member or any of its Dependents’ or Extended Family members will be paid.
Waiting periods:
– Waiting periods apply to all new policies
– Waiting periods apply when updating your existing policy to a higher cover and premium (only to the difference between your current cover amount and the new higher cover amount.)
– Waiting periods apply to newly added extended members to existing policies
- Natural death – 6 consecutive months from commencement date, subject to 6 consecutive months premium received prior to death;
- Accidental Death – cover is immediate, subject to 1st months premium being received prior to death;
- Suicide – 12 consecutive months from commencement date, subject to 12 consecutive months premium received prior to death.

This is a personal choice, based on affordability. Funerals are expensive and you have to look at the cost of funeral-related expenses such as coffins, flowers, lowering devices, storing the body of the deceased, tomb stones etc.
Yes, depending on the relationship to the Main Member.
Proof of *Insurable Interest must be provided.
* Insurable Interest means to assess the relationship with the proposed insured person under the age of 21 in order to determine if you support them financially.
- Any non-qualifying child and/or foster child (18 years and older) of the Main Member as well as
- Parents, grandparents, brothers, sisters, aunts (the sister of the Main Member’s mother or father), uncles (the brother of the Main Member’s mother or father), nephews (the son of the Main Member’s brother or sister), nieces (the daughter of the Main Member’s brother or sister), grandchildren.
- For Basic Family Cover, you pay 1 premium for the whole family (Main Member, spouse, number of dependent children allowed on the plan you choose).
- For Extended Member Cover, you pay per person you cover on the policy
A family cover option includes the Main Member (principal insured), spouse, and up to 5 dependent children under the age of 21* who are allowed on the plan.
*Children aged 21-25 who are full-time students or disabled may be added provided. Proof will be required.

Your Accidental Death as Commuter is a free, value added product that is included in your HYPA Subscription. If you cancel the HYPA Subscription or stop paying, the Accidental Death as Commuter benefits will stop immediately.
Claims must be fully submitted within 180 days of death.
Should death occur due to suicide within the first 12 months after inception date, claims can be declined.

Cover will cease immediately should the Main Member cease to be a member of the HYPA plan (dies, withdraws, retires or fails to pay the HYPA subscription).
Accidental Death as Commuter benefit equals R25 000.
No waiting period applies in the event of death due to an accident caused by commuting on public transport such as a bus, taxi and train (air travel excluded), provided that the HYPA Subscription monthly payment is up to date.
Accidental Death as Commuter: is a direct and solely a result of bodily injury caused by accidental means, while using public transport such as a bus, taxi or train, Accidental Death as Commuter benefit will be payable. Death must have taken place within 30 days of the incident and the event must be the primary cause of death.
